Aquinas and the west forest ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Q. How do I get the dagger from the old man? A. You must prove your braveness. Fight until you reach level 2, and then he will let you have the wooden dagger. 2) Q. How do I get past the boulder in the woods? A. You need to use the hammer on it. 3) Q. Where is the hammer? A. The trader in Aquinas will sell it to you for $200. 4) Q. What are Pluto's boots, and where are they? A. Pluto's boots make you walk much faster. They are not necessary to beat the game, but they can be convenient at times. You can find them in a den in the forest. Enter the den by pushing on a secret tree located southwest of town. 5) Q. Ok, I am in the den, but all of the barrels kill me. What now? A. The boots are well hidden! Check the trees in the den. ------------------------------------------------------------------- B. The Castle and the mountain forest ------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) Q. Why does the thief tell me to leave? A. You don't have enough money to attract his interest. If you go to him with at least $700 he will offer you a crossbow. 7) Q. What do I do with the boulder in the castle? A. It acts as an ancient seal, and cannot be broken until you reach level 20. Then you can break it with the hammer. 8) Q. I have broken the boulder, but now how do I open the door? A. You need to find the key. (See question #13) 9) Q. What is the gold token for? A. You will give it to Sleah in the canyon. ------------------------------------------------------------------- C. Egdetiali, the desert, and the canyon ------------------------------------------------------------------- 10) Q. Why is the man in Egdetiali talking about sandworms? A. The sandworms are destroying his crops, and he will reward you with an ancient relic if you rid him of them. 11) Q. How do you get past Sleah in the canyon? A. Bring him the gold token 12) Q. Where is the gold token? A. It is outside of the castle, one screen south and one east. Use the hammer on the boulder there to reveal it. ------------------------------------------------------------------- D. The Graveyard of the Ancient Gaurdians ------------------------------------------------------------------- 13) Q. Where is the key? A. It is underneath a gravestone in the upper section of the graveyard. It is the leftmost markers which does not contain a spirit. Use the hammer on this marker. 14) Q. What does the old man do? A. If you are below 100 hit points he will offer you an apple for $400. This apple will give you 150% of your maxhp. ------------------------------------------------------------------- E. Sinfah's Lair, the dungeon, and the portal ------------------------------------------------------------------- 15) Q. Why am I running into invisible walls? A. You are in a maze. 16) Q. How do I get through the maze? A. How do I defeat the Sorbo clone? A. You cannot beat him in battle, you must use the Gaurdian's Wand on him. 18) Q. Where is the wand? A. It is in the castle cellar, under the boulder. (See Questions #7 & #8) 19) Q. Can I enter the portal? A. No, it is a one way portal, and you are on the wrong end :) 20) Q. So what do I do with the portal? A. You must do as the Gaurdians did centuries ago, and seal it using the wand, and then you have beat the game. =================================================================== Section II: Trivia and Miscellany =================================================================== * In versions 1.0 and 1.1 of Sorbo's Quest you would see a picture of the author (me) when you beat the game. This was removed in the port to Fargo II. * You can watch the opening story at any time by pressing [APPS] and [I] at the same time while on the map screen. * The Talk command in battle mode will only work with two enemies: the ogre and the midget. * After you beat the game, you can go back through the lair and go out the back door. It will lead you someplace familiar. * Sorbo's Quest is a lot like a TI-Basic RPG I wrote called The Ysplani, which I never finished. I abandoned it when Fargo was released. * Ysplan is pronounced like plan, the y and s are silent. It's meaning will be revealed in a later sequel. * Episodes V is under development.
